Every year, around 15,000 people in India are diagnosed with Thalessmia. It is a genetic blood disorder and affected patients depend on regular blood transfusion for survival, usually every 2 to 3 weeks. In these uncertain times of quarantine due to the ongoing pandemic, the Thalessmia and Sickle Cell society is in need of funds to keep providing transfusions to children and adults. This was completed during the pandemic lockdowns in 2020
I pledged to raise USD $1000 (INR 72000) for the people who are diagnosed for them to be able to get free transfusion. I pledged to do physical activity like pushup's , skipping and other activities for 30 consecutive days. I used social media channels namely Whatsapp and Facebook to raise awareness and requested for people to donate for the cause. I was able to raise $1366 (INR 98024).
